‘Birdman’ gana el premio al mejor elenco en los SAG

Michael Keaton sucumbió ante Eddie Redmayne en el apartado de mejor actor, sorprendentemente

“Birdman” de Alejandro González Iñárritu se alzó el domingo con el máximo honor en los Premios SAG, el de mejor elenco, aunque su protagonista Michael Keaton sucumbió ante Eddie Redmayne en el apartado de mejor actor.

Julianne Moore, Patricia Arquette y J.K. Simmons cimentaron su estatus como favoritos al Oscar al triunfar en una ceremonia que suele servir como indicador de lo que sucederá en los Premios de la Academia.

Redmayne, quien encarna a Stephen Hawking en “The Theory of Everything”, fue de algún modo el ganador sorpresa. Muchos anticiparon que el premio se lo llevaría Keaton por su interpretación de un ex astro de acción de Hollywood que intenta recuperar su carrera montando una obra teatral seria en Broadway. Redmayne dedicó su premio a los pacientes y víctimas de ALS.

Moore, ampliamente considerada la favorita como mejor actriz, se llevó el SAG por su interpretación de una profesora con principios de Alzehimer en “Still Alice”.

“Todos los actores somos actores de reparto”, dijo Simmons, honrado por su papel secundario de profesor de jazz dominante en “Whiplash”. “Cada uno de nosotros es esencial, completamente crucial para la historia porque con un solo movimiento en falso, el tres se descarrila”, añadió, y le agradeció a todos los 49 actores que participaron en la película.

Arquette, la estrella de “Boyhood”, sumó un galardón más a su larga lista de reconocimientos al llevarse el premio a la mejor actriz de reparto por dar vida a una madre soltera en un trabajo filmado a lo largo de 12 años.

Esta noche, actores y actrices se dieron cita en una nueva entrega de los premios del Sindicato de Actores (SAG) lo cual representará un adelanto de los que pudiera suceder en la próxima entrega de los premios de la Academia.

Entre las favoritas al máximo galardón de la noche se encuentran “Birdman”, “Boyhood”, “The Grand Budapest Hotel”, “The Imitation Game” y “The Theory of Everithing”.
