El presidente de Estados Unidos indicó que impondrá aranceles al aluminio canadiense a partir del 16 de agosto

El presidente estadounidense, Donald Trump, anunció el jueves que impondrá nuevamente aranceles de 10% al aluminio canadiense a partir del 16 de agosto, con el argumento de que Canadá “se aprovecha” de Estados Unidos.

Con la condición de que Canadá “no inunde nuestro país con sus exportaciones y no destruya todos nuestros empleos en el sector del aluminio”, el gobierno de Estados Unidos levantó aranceles, dijo Trump en un discurso en una fábrica de máquinas lavarropas en Ohio.

Pero “los productores canadienses de aluminio rompieron ese compromiso”, afirmó.

Trump anunció su decisión “que defiende a la industria estadounidense reimponiendo aranceles al aluminio de Canadá. Canadá se aprovecha de nosotros, como siempre”, expresó.
