Parodias de Trump, las más nominadas al Emmy

La gala de premiación se realizará el 17 de septiembre en el Teatro Nokia de Los Ángeles, y será presentado por Stephen Colbert

Los Angeles. El presidente Donald Trump opinó que la interpretación que hace Alec Baldwin de él “no puede ser peor”. No obstante, le valió al actor una nominación al Emmy. Baldwin encarna al presidente en el programa de comedia “Saturday Night Live” desde la campaña electoral, con Kate McKinnon interpretando a su contendiente demócrata Hillary Clinton y luego a la asesora presidencial Kellyanne Conway. Ambos fueron nominados este jueves como mejores actores de reparto para los Emmy-2017, junto a Melissa McCarthy, como mejor actriz de comedia invitada por su encarnación del secretario de prensa de la Casa Blanca, Sean Spicer. El programa, también llamado SNL y que no ha tenido piedad a la hora de criticar con un humor muy afilado el actual gobierno, lideró las nominaciones con 22 -las mismas que el western de ciencia ficción de HBO “Westworld"- y rompió un récord de 231 nominaciones desde que salió por primera vez al aire. El actual escenario político impulsó programas como los de Stephen Colbert, que arrancó el año pasado con el “late show” después de años en Comedy Central, y de Samantha Bee en TBS, dejando por fuera otros como “The Tonight Show” de Jimmy Fallon y la serie de Jerry Seinfeld, destacó el portal The Hollywood Reporter. Baldwin trabajaría en SNL solo durante la campaña, pero al ganar Trump sobrepasó el número de capítulos para entrar en la categoría de actor invitado. “Totalmente tendencioso, nada gracioso y la imitación de Baldwin simplemente no puede ser peor”, escribió del programa en diciembre el entonces recién electo Trump en Twitter. Pero las parodias políticas subieron la audiencia del programa y todos los expertos del sitio de predicciones Gold Derby colocaban a Baldwin primero en la lista de nominados. “Veep”, otra comedia política, recibió en total 17 nominaciones, incluida la de mejor serie de comedia y mejor actriz para Julia Louis-Dreyfus, que buscará su sexto Emmy por su papel en la desventurada vida de la expresidenta Selina Meyer.

“Juego de tronos”, ausente

Expertos pronostican una competencia muy abierta por la ausencia de la aclamada serie de HBO “Juego de tronos”, que se llevó un récord de 12 estatuillas el año pasado y no compite porque la nueva temporada no comienza hasta el domingo. “Ha sido un año de rompimiento de récords para la televisión, que continúa un crecimiento explosivo”, dijo el presidente de la Academia de la Televisión, Hayma Washington. “Better Call Saul”, “The Crown”, “The Handmaid’s Tale”, “House of Cards”, “Stranger Things”, “This Is Us” y “Westworld” son las siete nominadas a mejor drama. De las siete, cinco debutaron en el último año y desplazaron a shows como “The Americans”, “Homeland” y “Mr. Robot”. “The Crown”, la serie de Netflix que cuenta el ascenso al trono de la reina Isabel II de Inglaterra, suena con fuerza como la favorita a llevarse la estatuilla. La serie de terror “Stranger Things”, también de Netflix y ubicada en la década de 1980, obtuvo 18 nominaciones, al igual que la antología “Feud: Bette and Joan”, sobre la famosa rivalidad entre Joan Crawford y Bette Davis La categoría con más estrellas es la de mejor actor en una miniserie o película para TV y este año la lidera Robert De Niro con su interpretación del estafador Bernie Madoff en “The Wizard of Lies”. Riz Ahmed, Ewan McGregor, Geoffrey Rush y John Turturro fueron también nominados, junto a Benedict Cumberbatch. El protagonista de “House of Cards”, Kevin Spacey, dos veces ganador del Óscar pero nunca del Emmy, entró en la categoría de mejor actor dramático, su undécima nominación. Se enfrenta a Sterling K Brown (“This Is Us”), Bob Odenkirk (“Better Call Saul”), Liev Schreiber (“Ray Donovan”), Anthony Hopkins (“Westworld”) y Milo Ventimiglia (“This is Us”), que recibió su primera nominación. En la categoría de mejor actriz de comedia invitada, McCarthy enfrentará competencia póstuma con la leyenda de “Star Wars” Carrie Fisher, que apareció en la serie británica “Catastrophe” antes de su muerte en diciembre. La entrega de los Emmy se entregan el 17 de septiembre en Los Ángeles, en una ceremonia que será conducida por Colbert. La política seguro estará presente.
